Modality of Treatment

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
The core principle of CBT is that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected. By identifying and challenging negative thought patterns, individuals can learn to manage their emotions and alter their behaviors. This therapeutic technique utilizes structured sessions, often including practical exercises, to empower individuals to develop coping strategies and face challenges head-on.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a specialized form of cognitive-behavioral therapy designed to help individuals manage intense emotions and develop healthier ways to cope with stress. Originally developed by Dr. Marsha Linehan in the 1980s for treating borderline personality disorder, DBT has since proven effective for various mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Motivational Interviewing (MI)
Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a collaborative, person-centered approach to counseling and therapy that enhances an individual’s motivation to change by exploring and resolving ambivalence. Originally developed for treating alcohol dependence, MI has since been applied to various behavioral health issues, including substance use, health behavior change, and mental health disorders.

Brief Solution Focused Therapy
Solution Focused Therapy is designed to be a short-term, goal-oriented treatment that helps you identify and build on the skills you already have. Rather than delving deeply into past issues, we focus on envisioning your preferred future, setting clear objectives, and discussing the steps needed to reach them.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a form of psychotherapy that emphasizes accepting thoughts and feelings, rather than fighting against them. It is based on the idea that psychological flexibility is key to a satisfying life. In ACT, individuals learn to accept their experiences, commit to personal values, and take action towards achieving their goals.

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)
Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) is an evidence-based therapeutic intervention primarily used to treat various anxiety disorders, particularly obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). The goal of ERP is to help individuals confront their fears in a structured and gradual manner, decreasing the anxiety associated with those fears over time.
